About the Role
The position involves leading feasibility studies, procurement strategy, cost planning and valuation, overseeing contract administration, managing cost control and reporting, evaluating claims, and guiding the issuance of completion certificates. It also includes managing a team of Cost Consultants, driving process improvements, mentoring staff, building internal and external relationships, influencing senior stakeholders, and contributing to net‑zero carbon objectives. • Accountable for feasibility studies, procurement strategies and contract selection • Apply value management techniques at project outset • Manage estimating, cost planning and present final cost plan • Ensure effective execution of all procurement stages • Supervise preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses • Advise on administration of building contract terms • Measure work valuations and manage cost checking • Provide cost control, monthly post‑contract cost reports and client presentations • Identify costs from design changes, contract awards and construction activities • Evaluate claims for delay and additional contractor costs • Advise on issuing defect‑resolution and final completion certificates • Manage issuance of practical completion certificates and negotiate final accounts • Lead and coach a team of Cost Consultants • Drive improvements in systems, processes and transformational change • Mentor and train team members • Share technical expertise to upskill capabilities • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships • Influence key senior stakeholders • Identify and implement continuous improvement plans • Collaborate on net zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions

What You Bring
• Understand sustainability, social value and carbon reduction issues • Expert knowledge of industry best practice • Strong knowledge of value engineering and life‑cycle costing • Degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent) • Professional membership such as MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) • Detailed knowledge of major contract forms • Sound understanding of contract law and contractual frameworks • Sector‑specific expertise relevant to the role • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications for project portfolios
