About the Role
The Program Manager will retain existing business by developing and executing retention strategies, negotiating contracts, educating customers on contract details, securing face‑to‑face commitments, and resolving all service escalations within their account portfolio. • Maintain high customer satisfaction and act as primary point of contact for retention requests. • Collaborate with the Retention Manager to resolve unique customer issues and escalations. • Drive revenue and profitability by executing retention call plans that improve service and margin. • Match WM services to customer needs, communicating pricing, competition, and service strategies. • Propose solutions that comply with local, state, and federal regulations. • Update and secure customer service agreements. • Utilize WM sales productivity tools such as prospect databases, proposal programs, and pricing tools. • Prepare complex proposals and recommend equipment optimization and leasing options. • Generate reports, business correspondence, and presentations for managers, clients, and the public.

What You Bring
WM is seeking a seasoned Program Manager, Sales to manage relationships with large customers in Columbia, SC, Florence, SC, Conway, SC, and Augusta, GA, guiding them through their sustainability journey. The role is primarily office‑based but requires travel to field locations, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with required insurance, and occasional physical tasks such as handling objects under 30 lb and exposure to typical field conditions. WM is an equal‑opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws; candidates may need a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for required travel. • Earn a Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent experience; four years of relevant experience required. • Have at least two years of relationship‑management experience in the environmental or waste‑service industry. • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web‑based interactive systems. • Exhibit exceptional presentation skills and the ability to respond to stakeholder questions. • Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required insurance coverage.
