About the Role
The Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) supports the Construction Manager in delivering safe, high‑quality projects on time and within budget. This field‑focused role assists with daily construction activities, supervises operations, and helps balance scope, schedule, cost, and quality. The ACM also contributes to planning, execution, controls, and project closeout. • Coordinate daily field construction activities and supervise site operations. • Administer subcontracts, purchase orders, and maintain accurate project documentation. • Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with scope, budget, schedule, and quality targets. • Manage subcontractor performance and coordinate materials, equipment, and vendor deliveries. • Review, prepare, and route RFIs and submittals for constructability and regulatory compliance. • Support budget tracking, schedule updates, and quality management initiatives. • Implement and enforce QA/QC standards and assist with HSE compliance efforts. • Prepare and update project schedules, pay applications, status reports, and progress documentation. • Oversee site setup, temporary facilities, crane operations, heavy lifts, and heavy haul activities. • Maintain field document control, daily reports, progress photos, and activity logs. • Develop and update short‑interval (3–4 week look‑ahead) schedules. • Track and report Physical Percent Complete (PPC) metrics.

What You Bring
Travel is required for this position, with up to 100 % of time spent on site or at project locations. Candidates must have at least ten years of progressive field experience in the power delivery industry, including hands‑on construction and supervision of union power generation projects and combined‑cycle plant builds. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, OSHA 30 certification, and current union membership are preferred. Key competencies include strong relationship‑building, team leadership, and excellent organizational abilities. Applicants should demonstrate effective problem‑solving, solid understanding of construction methods, knowledge of EPC and design‑build delivery, and proficient communication across written, verbal, and electronic channels. Proficiency with MS Office, cloud‑based systems, and project management tools such as Primavera P6 is also valued. • Possess 10+ years of progressive field experience in power delivery, including union power generation projects. • Experience constructing combined‑cycle power plants and supervising civil, earthwork, and concrete work. • Hold OSHA 30 certification and current union membership; bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred. • Demonstrate strong relationship‑building, team leadership, and organizational skills. • Exhibit effective problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication abilities across written, verbal, and electronic formats. • Proficient with MS Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Primavera P6, and other cloud‑based project management tools.
