About the Role

The Stationary Equipment Technician repairs and maintains recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks to ensure safe and productive operations. Typical work includes routine maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyor systems, and compactors. Key responsibilities involve diagnosing mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, and technical manuals; performing repairs and maintenance on equipment; replacing parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings with hand tools; and swapping conveyor belts, electric motors, hydraulic cylinders, and other components. The technician reads and interprets vehicle condition reports and repair orders, communicates with supervisors and operators, documents parts usage, and completes daily consumables reports for the fleet management system. Additional duties may include repairing and installing plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and performing preventative maintenance on rolling stock like forklifts and skid steers.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include PLC troubleshooting ability, mechanical and electrical aptitude, prior experience in manufacturing and working with conveyors, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical or trade school certificate. Minimum requirements are at least one year of related equipment maintenance and repair experience or a trade school certification.

The position offers a pay range of $29.15 to $40.10 per hour, adjusted for local minimum wage rates, and may include bonus plan participation.
