About the Role
Key duties include reading blueprints to determine material needs, identifying tools and safety risks, fabricating and installing pipe to specifications, installing valves, hangers, supports, and flanges, performing quality tests, and rigging loads with appropriate equipment. The position has no direct reports but may oversee helpers and laborers as needed. • Assemble, layout, install, and maintain industrial pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas. • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals to determine material quantities and sizes. • Identify required tools and safety hazards, implementing appropriate precautions. • Fabricate, fit, and install pipe, valves, hangers, supports, and flanges according to plans. • Perform quality tests on pipe and piping systems. • Rig and hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and cables. • Occasionally supervise helpers and laborers, providing expertise and guidance.

ZACHRY is seeking an experienced Industrial Journeyman Pipe Fitter for maintenance work at Exxon Mobil in Beaumont, TX. No per diem is offered. The role involves assembling, laying out, installing, and maintaining pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas. Candidates must have at least four years of experience as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or Helper, be able to read and interpret prints and technical manuals, and possess good leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Experience on industrial construction projects and the ability to work both independently and as a team player are required. Preferred qualifications include prior Zachry employment, ROF status, NCCER certification, and formal technical education. Commitment to Zachry values and safety regulations is essential. • Minimum of 4+ years experience as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or Helper. • Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance background and strong problem‑solving ability. • Strong leadership, communication, manual dexterity, and teamwork skills. • Preferred: Zachry ROF’ed or former employee, NCCER certification, formal technical education.
