About the Role

• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and documentation to identify scope, quantities, and requirements for tunnel construction. • Conduct quantity take‑offs, material pricing, labor cost estimation, and subcontractor quote analysis to produce accurate cost estimates. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to incorporate technical and scheduling constraints into estimates. • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, bid proposals, and cost reports for clients, stakeholders, and internal decision‑makers. • Maintain a cost‑tracking system to monitor expenditures, detect budget deviations, and uncover cost‑saving opportunities. • Participate in value‑engineering, risk assessments, and cost‑saving initiatives to optimize project costs while preserving quality and safety. • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to keep estimates current and competitive.

What You Bring

This approach drives innovative solutions for our clients. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field. • Demonstrate proven experience as an estimator, cost estimator, or quantity surveyor on tunnel or infrastructure projects. • Proficient in cost‑estimating software, construction cost databases, and advanced MS Excel for analysis and reporting. • Possess strong knowledge of tunnelling methods, materials, and labor costs specific to underground construction. • Exhibit excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. • Communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. • Experience with Federal Transit Agency projects and familiarity with agencies such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR, and Amtrak. • Experience delivering programs or portfolios valued above $1 billion is a significant advantage.
