About the Role

The General Maintenance Technician ensures inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and upkeep of facility systems such as HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire/life safety, mechanical, and building infrastructure. They also perform carpentry, plumbing, painting, and CMMS data entry to maintain a safe, efficient environment. The role requires routine inspections, preventive maintenance, calibrations, functional tests, and timely completion of corrective work orders, while documenting activities in the CMMS. The technician must keep tools and work areas clean, follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies, and communicate status to supervisors. Interpersonal duties include working professionally with team members, vendors, and client representatives, participating in rotating on‑call schedules, and engaging in ongoing technical and safety training. • Inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire/life safety, boiler, refrigeration, compressor, motor, pump, and control systems. • Perform general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and data entry into CMMS. • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, calibrations, functional tests, and complete corrective work orders promptly. • Document equipment history, parts used, and labor hours in the CMMS. • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly tools, equipment, and work areas; adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. • Communicate repair status and system conditions to supervisors and collaborate with team members, vendors, and clients. • Participate in rotating on‑call schedule covering nights, weekends, and holidays. • Pursue ongoing technical, safety, and professional development training. • Work in environments with moving mechanical parts, elevated areas, fumes, chemicals, weather extremes, electrical risks, and loud noise.

What You Bring

Candidates should have a general working knowledge of multiple trades, strong mechanical aptitude, computer proficiency (preferably with building management systems), and 2–5 years of maintenance experience or equivalent education. They must be detail‑oriented, able to read technical documents, follow instructions, and apply basic math. Physical demands involve standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 75 lb, with requirements for color and depth perception. The work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts, elevated areas, chemicals, weather extremes, electrical hazards, and loud noise. • Possess 2–5 years of general maintenance experience or equivalent education; strong mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, diagrams, codes, and safety manuals; apply basic mathematical concepts. • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and lift up to 75 lb; required color, depth perception, and distance vision.
