About the Role

• Perform Right‑of‑Way Protection (RWP) to support track inspection crews • Establish and maintain safe work zones according to agency rules • Communicate clearly with inspectors, supervisors, and operations staff • Maintain situational awareness of train movements and work activities • Use approved warning devices, flags, radios, and other safety equipment • Follow all safety rules, operating procedures, and supervisor instructions • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near‑misses immediately • Assist with basic documentation of inspections and safety activities • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain alert for extended periods • Walk up to 7 miles on ballast and uneven surfaces, lift up to 50 lb, and work near moving trains while maintaining focus

What You Bring

We are seeking a reliable, safety‑focused entry‑level employee to support track inspection activities by performing Right‑of‑Way Protection (RWP) duties. This role is critical for ensuring the safety of inspection personnel working on or near active rail tracks. No prior railroad experience is required; training will be provided. RWP training and on‑the‑job instruction will be provided, and the position offers a pathway to track inspection or maintenance roles. The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and will join an equal‑opportunity employer. • Hold a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate reliable attendance • Communicate effectively in English • Prefer interest in railroad, transit, or construction work and prior safety or field experience • Familiarity with radios or safety protocols is a plus
