About the Role
Mortenson is seeking an Operator responsible for operating equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The role includes operating a variety of heavy equipment and performing routine maintenance, while following safety regulations, work plans, and pre‑task cards. The Operator will also build relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds and perform other assigned duties. • Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid‑steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane. • Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clear, orderly housekeeping. • Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions. • Follow work plans and pre‑task cards. • Build relationships with personnel from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

What You Bring
• Hold required equipment certifications. • Minimum one year of related experience. • Possess a current driver’s license with proper classification and endorsements as required by law. • Demonstrate strong teamwork, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, and attention to detail; able to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts. • Ability to operate equipment using levers, gears, pedals, and steering; knowledge of equipment functions and basic math skills. • Work independently with active listening, effective communication, and openness to diverse input and feedback. • Capable of repetitive hand, arm, leg movements and lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance or equipment).
