About the Role

The manager will implement and oversee the segment’s safety plan, conduct inspections, audits, and trend analysis, and track accidents, injuries, near‑misses, and property damage. They will review and approve Construction Work Plans and Job Hazard Analyses, deliver safety orientations and toolbox talks, and verify permits and safety documentation. The role includes providing technical expertise on hazard mitigation, PPE, and regulatory compliance, as well as overseeing incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions. What You Bring

The position supervises assigned Safety Engineers, mentors segment safety staff, and reports status and trend reports to the Project Safety Manager. The manager must hold a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field and have at least eight years of construction safety experience, including three years in a supervisory role. Experience managing safety programs on DOT or heavy civil infrastructure projects and an OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certification are required. Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910, MUTCD, GDOT provisions, and excellent communication and Microsoft Office skills are also essential. Preferred credentials include ASP, CSP, or CHST certification, First Aid/CPR/AED instructor level, and expertise in temporary traffic control design (NSC or ATSSA). Familiarity with MUTCD traffic‑control safety and prior work on large DOT or heavy‑civil projects are valued. Physical demands involve regular standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, and construction hazards. • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field • Minimum 8 years construction safety experience, with at least 3 years supervisory • Experience managing safety on DOT or heavy civil infrastructure projects • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certification (OSHA 500 trainer preferred) • Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910, MUTCD, GDOT Technical Provisions • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital safety platforms (e.g., Procore) • ASP, CSP, or CHST certification • First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification • Ability to stand, walk, climb, lift up to 50 lb and work outdoors • Strong integrity and ethical safety leadership • Proactive problem‑solver who anticipates risks • Effective mentor and collaborative team player
