About the Role

The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations leads collection activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off, and container services within a geographically dispersed division. Reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager, the supervisor oversees drivers and helpers, implements tactical initiatives, and drives functional excellence and budget achievement. The role also ensures compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, accounting, and ethical standards while fostering employee engagement. Safety leadership is a core responsibility, including setting and communicating safety goals, removing unsafe conditions from driver routes, and collaborating with sales and maintenance to address hazards on new routes or equipment. The supervisor oversees accident‑prevention programs, maintains equipment compliance, and cultivates a culture of safety through active employee participation and personal outreach. The supervisor is tasked with delivering a customer experience that meets or exceeds expectations, achieving missed‑pickup targets, and handling unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communication. By interacting directly with customers and acting as a positive company representative, the role drives satisfaction and loyalty. Efficiency duties include establishing productivity goals, managing labor hours and disposal expenses, and continuously improving routes to maximize density and reduce hours through techniques such as service conversions and container upsizing. The supervisor also creates a collaborative team environment, builds talent, coaches employees toward advancement, and performs other job‑related duties as needed. • Lead safety programs, remove hazards, partner with sales and maintenance, and ensure compliance. • Promote a safety culture by engaging employees in accident prevention. • Provide exceptional customer service, meet missed‑pickup targets, and resolve issues promptly. • Optimize routes and manage labor to improve productivity and reduce costs. • Coach and develop team members, fostering collaboration and career growth.
