About the Role
The Plant Maintenance Technician monitors and maintains all plant systems and equipment, such as balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The role responds to system failures by taking corrective action or assigning repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. The technician reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. Key duties include performing repairs that meet WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA standards, conducting preventive maintenance inspections, and diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding major equipment. The technician maintains the Daily Equipment Inspections backlog, adjusts work procedures to align with production schedules, and inspects third‑party repairs for quality. They also recommend improvements to production, equipment performance, and product quality, and handle emergency breakdown service calls. • Perform repairs following WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose, repair, rebuild major equipment such as balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire‑tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front‑end loaders, and building equipment • Maintain Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and notify Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager of additional work or delays beyond Standard Repair Times • Inspect quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds • Recommend measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality • Perform emergency service calls for breakdowns • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards • Work in indoor gas‑plant conditions and outdoor environments with inclement weather, heat, and humidity

What You Bring
Required qualifications are at least two years of relevant experience, a minimum age of 18, legal eligibility to work in the United States, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
