About the Role

The position sits within multi‑billion‑dollar data‑centre programmes for some of the world’s largest developers and end‑user clients. Roles are primarily site‑based, embedding you in multidisciplinary teams that handle commercial support such as monthly pay applications, change‑order reviews, financial reporting and on‑ground decision making. Assignments range from mountain‑rimmed locations with outdoor lifestyles to vibrant college towns, offering a unique blend of scale, pace and lifestyle. • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection. • Apply value‑management techniques early in the project lifecycle. • Manage estimating and cost‑planning activities, presenting final cost plans. • Assist in procurement and selection of the main contractor. • Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and support their execution. • Advise on administration of building‑contract terms and manage variations. • Measure work, provide valuations and adjust variations in line with contract terms. • Deliver cost control, reporting services and prepare client financial reports as required. • Identify and track costs associated with design changes, contract awards and construction activities. • Participate in evaluating contractor claims for delay and additional costs. • Advise on issuing certificates of practical completion and negotiate final accounts. • Lead improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change. • Provide guidance, mentoring and informal training to junior cost consultants. • Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations. • Contribute to net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing associated emissions.

What You Bring

The role requires a strong technical foundation in cost management, experience with contract administration, and an awareness of sustainability and carbon‑reduction considerations. • Hold a degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent) and be progressing towards MRICS/RICS membership. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of sustainability, social value and carbon‑reduction issues. • Possess extensive experience in cost consultancy, cost planning, budgeting and estimating. • Understand various contract types, measurement methods and contract administration. • Exhibit strong negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities. • Be digitally competent and effective at communicating with all stakeholders. • Show ability to implement improved working practices and drive continuous improvement.
