About the Role
The Finishing Operator executes preparation and finishing operations on assigned work orders with precision and efficiency. Key duties include painting, boxing, broaching, balancing, and key‑seating of components, while ensuring alignment with technical prints and quality standards. Daily tasks involve pulling raw materials and stick stock, measuring and cutting them to specified lengths using a cut‑off saw, and verifying dimensions against job requirements. The operator also performs finishing processes, inspects finished parts for defects, and documents inspection results. Operating secondary machines safely, performing routine maintenance, and reporting equipment malfunctions are essential responsibilities. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, proper use of personal protective equipment, and the flexibility to work outside the assigned cell when needed. • Pull raw materials and stick stock according to work order specifications. • Measure and cut materials to precise lengths using a cut‑off saw. • Verify material dimensions against technical prints and job requirements. • Perform finishing operations: painting, boxing, broaching, balancing, and key‑seating. • Inspect finished components for defects using calipers, micrometers, and visual checks. • Document inspection results and report inconsistencies to supervisors. • Update job status and track progress in production systems. • Operate secondary machines safely and perform routine maintenance. • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment. • Assist with inventory control by reporting material usage and shortages. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing process feedback. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. • Detect material defects and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.

What You Bring
The work environment includes exposure to noise levels at or above 85 dB, dust, paint or oil products, and variable weather conditions. Physical demands involve lifting, bending, kneeling, and using fine motor skills, with the requirement to wear appropriate PPE throughout the shift. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with 1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience. Crane operation experience and familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and machine operation are preferred, along with vocational training in manufacturing or industrial technology. • Demonstrate basic computer proficiency for navigating production systems. • Possess 1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience; high school diploma or GED preferred. • Crane operation experience and familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments preferred.
