About the Role

As a member of the welding team, you will develop welding techniques and technologies to optimise parameters and achieve plant‑quality welds. You will deliver practical welding services both in‑house and on‑site, performing critical welds to nuclear quality standards (ASME, ISO, DGS, RRP) while ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. You will interpret engineering drawings, WPS and specifications, maintain traceability and documentation, and participate in procedure development and qualification.

What You Bring

The position requires NVQ Level 3 Engineering or a Welding Apprenticeship, along with competence in manual welding techniques, and a good understanding of ISO 3834 quality requirements. Experience with orbital welding and the ability to work with stainless steel, carbon steel, Monel and Inconel are desirable. You must be able to read and follow welding procedures, understand health‑and‑safety practices, and manage quality and process control. Shift patterns involve 12‑hour rotations, including weekends, and assignments may require extended periods on‑site (typically two weeks). Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain a Security Check clearance, and must be a UK national or a MoD‑approved dual national. Rolls‑Royce will support the security clearance process where needed. • Proficient with MMA (SMAW) manual welding processes • Skilled in TIG (GTAW) manual welding processes • Experience with orbital welding (advantageous)
