About the Role

A Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and delivering prompt, courteous waste removal services. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with the company’s safety standards before operation and adhere to all company, state, and federal regulations while driving. Daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) are completed to address any defects promptly. The driver performs comprehensive pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls. Any safety issues are reported on standard forms. This ensures the truck is ready for service and meets safety requirements. During the shift the driver follows a designated route sheet, reads maps, and services each customer as assigned by dispatch. Manual or automatic controls are used to lift, load, compact, and transport refuse to the disposal facility. The driver operates the compactor and disposes of collected material at the designated site. Customer interactions are courteous and professional, and the driver tags unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures. Waste spills are cleaned promptly while following safety standards. Continuous monitoring for unacceptable waste ensures compliance. The driver monitors the vehicle’s condition throughout the day, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body after each disposal trip. Required route, productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports are completed accurately. Productivity standards are maintained to service all customers efficiently.
