About the Role
• Assist scheduling and oversight of TOC staff training program. • Review resumes, conduct interviews, and recommend hires or advancements. • Contribute to development of TOC standard operating procedures, technical memos, and training materials. • Oversee regional TOC floor operations and conduct staff audits. • Coordinate and lead daily activities of regional TOC floor staff. • Support efficient regional traffic management, traveler information, and incident response. • Serve as acting TOC Manager in the manager’s absence. • Monitor control room equipment status and report maintenance needs. • Perform routine performance assessments and floor staff audits.

What You Bring
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Traffic Operations Center (TOC) Floor Manager for our Chesterfield, VA location. Reporting to the Traffic Operations Manager, the role provides essential support and serves as the primary liaison between regional floor staff and leadership. The position requires flexibility to work alternate schedules, be on‑call 24 hours a day, and be available on‑site during weather events or civil disasters. Relocation assistance and sponsorship for U.S. work authorization are not offered. • Bachelor’s degree with six years relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience. • Pass state and federal background checks, VDOT fingerprint check, and pre‑employment drug screening. • Ability to work alternate schedules and be on‑call 24/7. • Preferred experience in leadership, staff relations, and real‑time operations under pressure. • Knowledge of transportation systems, ITS, and advanced traffic management systems. • Proficiency in preparing technical reports, presentations, and spreadsheet analysis. • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
