About the Role
• Perform reactive repairs on lighting circuits, sockets, fuse boards and other electrical systems. • Inspect and test electrical installations to verify safety and regulatory compliance. • Replace or repair faulty switches, outlets, light fittings and circuit breakers. • Install additional sockets and cabling as required. • Work independently or collaboratively to achieve daily repair targets. • Communicate repair details and outcomes clearly to tenants or residents. • Maintain clean and safe work areas after completing tasks. • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures. • Deliver high levels of customer care at all times. • Respond to emergency call‑outs, including out‑of‑hours shifts when needed. • Install, service, repair and maintain domestic equipment such as shower pumps, extractor fans and Emerson cylinders. • Use IT systems to manage and prioritize workload and ensure timely completion of repairs. • Participate in the annual Mears Fun Day and paid volunteering leave.

What You Bring
We are seeking a skilled electrician for our Croydon team to carry out maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems in occupied and void properties. The role ensures homes are safe, compliant and ready for residents through reactive fixes, planned maintenance and support for refurbishment projects. Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2) and a City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification, a clean full UK driving licence, and prior experience in domestic or social‑housing environments. Desirable credentials are Inspection & Testing 2391 (or equivalent) and a domestic ventilation course. • Hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2). • Hold City & Guilds 18th Edition (or progress from 17th Edition). • Possess a full UK driving licence with a clean record. • Have previous experience in domestic or social‑housing electrical work. • Desirable: Inspection & Testing 2391 (or 2394/2395) certification. • Desirable: Domestic ventilation course.

The position offers a salary of up to £43,179.15 per annum, a full‑time permanent contract, and includes a company van and fuel card. Working hours are 42.5 per week (8 am‑5 pm, Monday‑Friday) with an on‑call rota of one week in three.
