About the Role
The Water, Environment & Society Market Lead for the Sydney office will provide senior leadership, set strategic direction and drive market influence and operational performance. This role will translate company goals into actionable plans, guide investment decisions, grow market share, and ensure revenue and profit targets are met while maintaining sustainability. • Define and execute strategy for water, environment and society initiatives to achieve growth and impact. • Advise senior leadership on market trends, investments and long‑term planning across Australia. • Drive market‑share expansion while meeting sustainable revenue and profit targets. • Build and maintain trusted relationships with government, industry, clients and partners. • Monitor policy, regulatory and competitive changes to seize opportunities and mitigate risks. • Coach and align senior leaders, fostering collaboration and clear objectives. • Identify talent, develop capabilities and plan succession for future growth. • Oversee project efficiency, client satisfaction, resource allocation and financial performance.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a strategic, people‑centred leader with an engineering (or related) tertiary qualification and proven senior leadership experience in the water, environment and society sector. They must be able to turn strategy into measurable outcomes, understand market trends, build trusted stakeholder relationships, lead large diverse teams, and possess strong commercial and financial acumen. • Hold an engineering or related tertiary qualification. • Proven senior leadership experience in water, environment and society or a closely aligned sector. • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into measurable results. • Deep knowledge of market landscape, trends, challenges and opportunities. • Strong track record in building trusted client and stakeholder relationships. • Experience leading large, diverse teams with a focus on coaching and capability development. • Commercial and operational expertise, including business planning and financial oversight. • Proactive, solution‑focused mindset capable of navigating complexity.
