About the Role

The Site Safety Technician ensures compliance with safety and health standards by directly intervening with managers and supervisors, identifying and correcting unsafe behaviors, and serving as a personal example of safety practices. The technician collaborates with craft personnel, supports pre‑job planning, enforces OSHA, client, and company policies, manages emergency response and first‑aid services, and investigates accidents and near‑misses. • Assist estimators and project managers with pre‑job planning and maintain coordination with superintendents throughout the project. • Monitor, evaluate, and report safety performance of assistant superintendents to the superintendent and manager. • Enforce OSHA‑plus client and company safety and health standards. • Conduct orientation and training to support the Zero Injury Goal and meet regulatory requirements. • Oversee recognition award program to promote safety‑focused employee behavior. • Apply Cajun’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Policy. • Train and monitor pre‑task planning on site. • Maintain emergency response, medical, and first‑aid services at each job site. • Investigate and report serious accidents and near‑miss incidents, including disabling injuries. • Perform all required site inspections and safety audits. • Lift up to 25 lb regularly (occasionally 50 lb); climb ladders, scaffolds, and uneven terrain; work in various weather conditions. • Operate office equipment and drive cars/trucks as needed; walk, squat, bend, and stand for prolonged periods. • Perform basic math calculations; make decisions and stay detail‑oriented under distractions.
