About the Role

The Senior Preconstruction and Estimating Manager leads the collaborative preconstruction process, delivering competitive bids, negotiated proposals, cost estimates, analyses, and budgets. The role operates within JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values, making decisions within defined authority and reporting to a supervisor as needed. The position offers a pathway to Preconstruction Services Director 1. • Lead the full preconstruction process, delivering bids, proposals, estimates, analyses, and budgets. • Develop and execute win strategies, including interview preparation and presentations to support business development. • Oversee project teams to ensure successful execution and completion of preconstruction activities. • Manage relationships with key clients and design team contacts during preconstruction. • Perform estimating tasks, including self‑perform estimating, as needed. • Create conceptual budgets and maintain accurate project cost histories. • Partner with operations to assess project risk, scoring, and completion. • Review project business plans with stakeholders to ensure alignment and profitability. • Champion diversity and inclusion, implementing JE Dunn’s non‑discrimination policies. • Read and interpret drawings and specifications. • Operate construction estimating software and required construction technology. • Prepare quantity surveys and develop general‑requirements estimates. • Comply with MBE, WBE, and SBA regulations. • Build collaborative relationships internally and externally.

The role requires a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 10 pounds, and may involve overnight travel and non‑traditional hours to meet project needs. Work occurs in a normal office setting but can expose the employee to extreme temperatures and occasional physical activity such as standing, walking, and climbing.
