About the Role

In this role you will collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, blueprints, and load calculations to support HVAC design and construction. You will apply mechanical engineering techniques across concept, preliminary, final design, and construction phases, performing field assessments and ensuring code and industry standard compliance. Coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and clients will be essential to develop mechanical plans, specifications, and schedules, while integrating digital controls and sustainable design strategies. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams, preparation of visualizations, and professional interaction with subcontractors and clients are also key responsibilities. • Collect and compile data from work sites, surveys, blueprints, HVAC load calculations, and performance reports. • Apply mechanical engineering techniques to improve project phases from concept development to construction administration. • Perform HVAC engineering design work, conduct field assessments, and ensure compliance with codes and industry standards. • Compile system specifications and mechanical schedules for project documentation. • Prepare mechanical plans and coordinate with owners, architects, electrical engineers, sub‑consultants, and clients. • Develop and integrate standard HVAC design technologies, digital controls, and building systems strategies. • Verify site characteristics and document existing building conditions, including temperature control and air distribution systems. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on system calculations, equipment selection, permit documentation, and Revit/AutoCAD deliverables. • Create HVAC data visualizations such as load tables, equipment schedules, airflow diagrams, and heat transfer calculations. • Interact professionally with subcontractors and clients regarding HVAC system compliance and design intent. • Work with architects, structural and electrical engineers, and project managers on office design projects. • Stay current with HVAC design innovations, energy‑efficient systems, and sustainability practices. • Exercise ethical decision‑making in line with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
