About the Role
The role is a new Regional Defence Sector and Office Lead based in the Bristol studio, supporting and expanding WSP’s existing defence portfolio. You will work with an established architectural team of over 100 UK professionals across multiple cities, driving sector development and contributing to the Architectural Sector Development Plan. You will report to the Head of Discipline, Operations Director and UK sector lead, receiving regular reviews to ensure progress against the Architectural Business Plan and to grow sector expertise. The position also involves enhancing client relationships and leading a sector‑specific support team. Key expectations include leading defence capability, managing bids domestically and internationally, ensuring design quality, developing talent, supporting the Architect Board’s financial goals, and co‑managing the Bristol studio with the AD team lead.

What You Bring
Applicants must be qualified architects with defence‑sector experience, solid knowledge of UK building regulations, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, plus the ability to obtain a Security Check (SC). • Defence‑sector architectural experience. • Qualified architect status. • Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards. • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. • Technical design expertise in UK construction methodology. • Experience delivering tender and construction‑stage packages. • Ability to sketch and communicate technical details graphically. • Eligibility to obtain a UK Security Check (SC).
