Roll Mill Mechanic

About the Role

• Lead and develop the Roll Mill maintenance team while overseeing large projects from start to finish. • Drive continuous improvement of safety culture, predictive, and preventive maintenance programs. • Coordinate projects that enhance department safety and efficiency, managing contractors and costs. • Communicate effectively with production and maintenance departments. • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

What You Bring

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Candidates must demonstrate leadership. They need at least one year of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays. A positive attitude and working knowledge of rolling mill machinery are preferred. Additional desired skills include troubleshooting hydraulic systems, maintaining air compressors, proficient welding/fabrication, and gearbox setup and alignment experience. • Minimum: 1+ year industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, demonstrated leadership, willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays. • Preferred: Positive attitude, knowledge of rolling mill machinery, hydraulic system troubleshooting, air compressor maintenance, welding/fabrication proficiency, gearbox setup and alignment experience.
