About the Role
The Shop Foreman supervises employees who repair and maintain rental equipment, coordinating the Service Department workload for maximum efficiency and quality. This role involves directing technicians and yard staff, scheduling service and maintenance, monitoring equipment repairs, and assisting the Profit Center Manager with training, planning, and conflict resolution, while consistently demonstrating Sunbelt’s core values. • Leverage current skills while developing new ones. • Instruct, assist, and train service technicians in equipment repair and safety best practices. • Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality. • Continuously improve operations, reduce turnaround times, and streamline processes. • Collaborate with other areas to deliver seamless customer service. • Direct service technicians and yard staff in daily operations. • Schedule service and maintenance for equipment at the workshop or customer site, coordinating breakdown responses. • Monitor equipment repairs and ensure proper cost allocation to customers, suppliers, or profit centers. • Assist the Profit Center Manager with employee training, work planning, assignment, conflict resolution, and complaints.

What You Bring
Candidates should have a trade school or college degree (associate or bachelor's preferred), a valid driver’s license, and at least five years of mechanical experience in the rental or a similar industry, along with prior supervisory experience. Strong customer‑relation skills, basic computer proficiency, knowledge of repair methods and tools, and a proven safety record are also required. The position demands physical activity such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 lb or more, both indoors and outdoors. • Preferred trade school or college degree (associate or bachelor's). • Valid driver’s license. • Prior supervisory experience. • Over 5 years of mechanical experience in the rental or similar industry. • Strong customer relations and communication skills. • Basic computer proficiency for data entry. • Knowledge of methods, materials, and tools for equipment repair and maintenance. • Proven safety record.
