About the Role
The Drainage Section Manager leads drainage design projects, ensuring coordination across disciplines and delivering high‑quality documentation. This role involves establishing work plans, managing the design‑to‑construction process, and overseeing the creation of engineering plans, reports, and permit packages. • Act as Engineer‑of‑Record for drainage design on transportation projects. • Lead coordination and document development through design and construction phases. • Establish work plans and oversee production of plans, reports, and permit packages. • Conduct quality control reviews of engineering deliverables. • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers and designers. • Facilitate career development through feedback and skill‑building opportunities. • Build and maintain relationships with clients, agencies, and partners. • Lead marketing activities: create materials, conduct research, deliver presentations, prepare fee proposals, and negotiate with clients. • Lead complex drainage design and manage a team of engineers. • Participate in business development and client relationship management.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BS in Civil Engineering or a related field, possess a Professional Engineer license, and have at least 15 years of progressive transportation drainage design experience, particularly on FDOT projects. Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership abilities are essential for guiding a team of drainage engineers. • Hold a BS in Civil Engineering (or related) and a Professional Engineer license. • Possess 15+ years of transportation drainage design experience, especially with FDOT projects. • Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills. • Experience designing stormwater management, open/closed drainage systems, and bridge hydraulics.
