About the Role

The Accounting Intern role at MiTek supports daily accounting activities while providing exposure to multiple finance functions. This position is designed to build foundational professional skills through hands‑on experience and project involvement. Interns will assist with the month‑end close, including preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and reconciling accounts. They will also join initiatives focused on improving accounting efficiency and gain practical knowledge of general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, fixed assets, and cost accounting. Accurate data entry into the company’s financial systems is a core responsibility. • Support month‑end close by preparing journal entries, performing variance analysis, and reconciling accounts. • Participate in projects aimed at improving accounting processes and efficiency. • Maintain accurate entry of financial data in company systems. • Lead a high‑priority project to demonstrate problem‑solving and leadership abilities. • Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

What You Bring

Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Ownership of a high‑priority project is required to showcase problem‑solving and leadership abilities. Familiarity with Excel and ERP platforms such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle is expected. Success in this role relies on strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability, as well as a commitment to confidentiality and ethical judgment. Interns must be detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines. • Pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting with expected graduation Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and a cumulative GPA of 3.0+. • Apply knowledge of debits/credits, journal entries, and financial statements; receive training in Excel and ERP systems (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and ethical judgment when handling confidential financial information.
