About the Role
The Business Development (BD) team drives growth by sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating real‑estate and operating‑business acquisition opportunities. The team originates leads, advises field management on converting relationships into viable deals, drafts term sheets and LOIs, coordinates diligence, works with FP&A to model returns, and collaborates with legal and senior leadership to secure board approval and integrate acquisitions. • Identify, evaluate, and pursue acquisition opportunities aligned with strategic priorities. • Build and maintain relationships with prospective acquisition targets. • Negotiate and document key acquisition terms and conditions. • Manage and coordinate all aspects of acquisition diligence with internal and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with VP of Business Development, legal counsel, FP&A, and management to drive acquisition processes, approvals, and closings. • Prepare board pre‑read materials and presentations to support acquisition approvals. • Monitor construction‑aggregates market trends and emerging opportunities. • Travel domestically as needed for acquisition activities.

What You Bring
Rogers Group is hiring a Director of Business Development who will report to the Vice President of Business Development and operate from Nashville, with occasional domestic travel. The ideal candidate brings substantial M&A experience in construction‑aggregates or civil‑construction, strong financial acumen, a strategic and process‑oriented mindset, and the ability to lead projects while also contributing as an individual contributor. Excellent oral and written communication, relationship‑building skills, and proficiency with modern technology tools are essential. • MBA, CPA, CFA, JD, or master’s degree in engineering, geology, or a related field. • Minimum five years of M&A or corporate development experience, preferably in construction‑aggregates or civil‑construction. • Experience in mining, civil/mechanical engineering, geology, real estate, railroads, market analysis, or FP&A is a plus. • Strong business and financial acumen. • Excellent relationship‑management, negotiation, and project‑management skills. • Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal abilities. • Familiarity with SharePoint and GIS is a plus.
