About the Role
The specialist will collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to develop category strategies, sourcing plans, and supplier relationships, while ensuring financial performance and cost‑reduction initiatives. • Manage design phase, estimating, and procurement for key fencing projects • Interpret project plans and specifications to prepare accurate estimates • Solicit and qualify manufacturer quotes and create project proposals • Assist design phase with material selections based on client needs • Create and maintain procurement logs, submittals, and shop drawings • Coordinate with project teams and other trades to ensure seamless execution • Develop and implement category strategies, including spend analysis and market assessment • Identify stakeholder requirements and develop sourcing strategies with timing and resources • Support annual category reviews, metrics, and risk mitigation plans • Maintain relationships with key suppliers, monitor quality and delivery, and facilitate expedites • Assist with financial goals, pricing strategies, and monthly/annual financial reviews • Negotiate supplier contracts, develop negotiation strategies, and monitor market drivers • Forecast, report, and mitigate commodity inflation impacts • Lead diverse team members, provide coaching, feedback, and performance management

What You Bring
• Adapt strategies to changing business, market, and economic conditions • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, construction management, or related field • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar procurement or category role • Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, materials, and purchasing procedures • Strong negotiation, organization, planning, and communication skills • Strategic thinking, business acumen, and effective presentation abilities • Ability to influence without authority and strong active‑listening skills • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Mortenson offers a base salary of $84,500‑$126,800 (adjusted for certain locations), a comprehensive benefits package, and requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
