About the Role
The senior engineer will lead mechanical design on assigned projects, serve as the lead engineer for deliverable development, and coordinate with the mechanical piping design team. Responsibilities include developing equipment general arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, asset and tie‑in lists, and providing technical expertise for risk assessments and due‑diligence studies. The role also generates deliverables from feasibility through detail design, creates construction specifications, supports construction, start‑up, and commissioning, and performs quality‑control reviews. • Lead mechanical engineering design on assigned power generation projects. • Coordinate with the piping design team to produce engineering drawings and deliverables such as GAs, P&IDs, and isometrics. • Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence, and complex client solutions. • Generate mechanical deliverables across feasibility to detail design phases. • Develop construction specifications, material requisitions, and support construction, start‑up, and commissioning. • Perform quality control reviews and participate in project and client meetings. • Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors; prepare internal and external presentations.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and six years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications are a master’s degree, Professional Engineer license, 12+ years in power generation, and five years as a technical mechanical lead. Candidates should have experience with combined‑cycle and nuclear plants, industry codes (API, ASME, etc.), equipment and piping specifications, and proficiency in software such as Thermoflow, Hysys, Caesar II, Pipe‑Flo, AspenTech, Navisworks, and BIM 360. • Minimum: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years relevant experience. • Preferred: M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Professional Engineer license, 12+ years power generation experience, 5+ years as technical mechanical lead. • Experience with combined‑cycle and nuclear plants, industry codes (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTM) and equipment/piping specifications. • Proficiency in Thermoflow, Hysys, Caesar II, Pipe‑Flo, AspenTech, Navisworks, and BIM 360. • Ability to work remotely in multi‑disciplinary teams and travel occasionally to client or project sites.

The role is based in New Orleans, LA, with a hybrid work model and a compensation range of $135,000‑$165,000 per year.
