About the Role
The Tower Technician II installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. Duties include climbing towers, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing sites, and assisting with antenna and transmission line installations using cranes, helicopters, and gin poles. The technician also supports foundation, grounding, and electrical work while mentoring less‑experienced crew members. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Climb towers and ladders; conduct erection of various tower types. • Off‑load material, prepare and clean sites, and manage inventory. • Assist with tower assembly using helicopters, cranes, gin poles, and monopole construction. • Install antenna systems (microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM) and related transmission lines. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and electrical installations. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma, at least two years of tower experience, and the ability to read and follow technical prints. A strong safety mindset, physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12‑hour shifts are required, along with a valid driver’s license; NWSA certification is a plus. • Meet physical requirements: climb towers, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hr shifts. • Hold a valid driver’s license; NWSA certification is a plus.
