About the Role

• Lead environmental projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and client communication. • Track and maintain liability estimates and documentation per client requirements. • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates. • Review and coordinate multidisciplinary team inputs for high‑quality deliverables. • Drive projects to regulatory closure in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Communicate early and often with clients, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders. • Prepare proposals, presentations, and client engagement initiatives with colleagues. • Present option‑based recommendations to support proactive and innovative consulting. • Produce clear, concise technical reports, correspondence, and regulatory submittals. • Support development of proposals, technical scopes, and ensure QA/QC of deliverables. • Evaluate remedial alternatives and conceptual site models with lifecycle cost and risk analysis. • Consult GHD technical subject‑matter experts to develop data‑driven recommendations. • Identify early risks and provide decision‑ready options focusing on cost efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. • Lead teams conducting site assessments, remedial investigations, and compliance evaluations. • Assess environmental risks, recommend mitigation measures, and incorporate administrative practices. • Coordinate stakeholder and internal groups during project transitions from emergency response to remediation. • Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks and costs for contaminated sites and treatment systems. • Follow HSE policies, proactively mitigate risks, and promote continuous improvement. • Develop professional capabilities through training, mentoring, and staying current with regulations and technologies. • Manage sampling and field investigations, coordinate laboratory testing, and ensure QA/QC protocols. • Contribute to proposal and tender preparation, including cost estimates and project documentation. • Engage in GHD’s environmental community of practice to share knowledge and strengthen expertise.

What You Bring

GHD is seeking a senior Engineer/Geologist to serve as a Project Manager within our Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) group. You will lead complex environmental projects that identify, abate, or eliminate sources of pollutants affecting the environment or public health, using multidisciplinary data to drive projects to regulatory closure. This role demands creativity, innovation, and the ability to shape communities positively through collaborative problem‑solving. • Understand client drivers and needs to deliver responsive technical service. • Understand design and operation of containment systems such as landfills, barrier walls, and pumping systems. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. • Possess OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification. • Bring 5–10+ years of experience in contaminated site investigations, remediation, data interpretation, and technical reporting. • Demonstrate expertise in regulatory strategies, client engagement, and complex project sites. • Preferred: Class I railroad experience, E‑Railsafe certification, and professional licensure (Geologist or Engineer). • Experience preparing regulatory work plans, reports, and post‑closure monitoring documentation. • Knowledge of remedial technologies, hydrogeologic analysis, and environmental containment/treatment systems. • Proficiency with portfolio systems (e.g., ENFOS), lifecycle cost estimating, and budget controls. • Proven record of error‑free technical writing and QA/QC oversight. • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a consulting environment with high quality and client service focus.
