About the Role
The Managing Director will lead a regional team, develop business plans, target pursuits, and execute diverse projects while maintaining client satisfaction. Responsibilities include staffing, coordinating market‑focus activities, generating new revenue, expanding existing streams, and forecasting a pipeline of opportunities. The leader will also nurture relationships with architects, PM/CM firms, and general contractors to secure major pursuits. • Collaborate with Practice Area Directors on staffing and project pursuits • Establish annual budgets, business plans, and manage collections/accounts receivable • Network externally to generate and expand revenue streams • Participate in SENSE, EDT, and intern programs • Maintain high employee morale • Oversee P&L performance, tracking NEF, UC, multiplier, billing, and collections • Coordinate office events and enforce company standards and playbooks • Implement Vision 2025 and 2035 initiatives • Lead talent growth through recruitment, performance reviews, and training • Ensure technical execution and QA/QC on projects • Write proposals, negotiate contracts, and mitigate risk

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) and bring at least 15 years of market design expertise, with five or more years in management and business development. Proven knowledge of MEP systems, PE registration, and a record of P&L accountability are essential. Strong communication, relationship‑building, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment are required. • Cross‑sell services across multiple clients and understand the local marketplace • Leverage specialized knowledge of the local AEC building market • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) • 15+ years of market design experience • Minimum 5 years of management experience • 5+ years developing business for engineering or construction • In‑depth knowledge of MEP systems • PE registration highly desired • Willingness to travel regionally on the East Coast and occasionally internationally • Strong team player with ability to work independently • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability • 5 years of engineering management with P&L responsibility
