About the Role

We are hiring a Deputy Program Director for K‑12 projects in Georgia to lead the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E‑SPLOST) Capital Improvement Program and oversee operations for a public school district serving roughly 40,000 students across over 70 facilities. • Oversee design and permitting for assigned projects • Coordinate project requirements with third‑party agencies • Manage design consultants and construction manager deliverables • Provide input for the Monthly Program Report on status and issues • Review and recommend approval of construction delivery proposals • Evaluate and advise client on changes to design consultants or contractor scopes • Manage deliverable reviews and resolve consultant comments • Review and recommend bulletins • Review and recommend change orders • Provide technical management of assigned design consultant • Chair or participate in regular progress meetings to review project status • Attend weekly Project Coordination Meeting chaired by the Deputy Program Director • Lead design review comment and reconciliation meetings with consultants as needed • Facilitate resolution of technical and contractual issues • Participate in Owner‑Architect‑Contractor weekly or bi‑weekly progress meetings • Review contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) • Advise client on errors and omissions issues • Monitor project scope, budget, schedule and quality, reporting deviations promptly • Manage corrective actions to scope, budget, schedule and quality • Oversee design and construction support activities • Collaborate with design consultants on evaluations, studies, reports and alternatives • Manage design consultant’s construction‑phase services • Facilitate phasing and logistics meetings • Supervise technical and administrative support staff assigned to the Project Manager • Coordinate with appropriate Project Administrators • Evaluate architects/engineers and contractors • Provide primary consulting services to clients of various sizes • Assess and manage risk on behalf of the client • Provide oversight and direction to client‑procured architects, contractors, consultants and AECOM staff • Resolve difficult project issues impacting schedule or cost • Perform occasional standing, walking, vehicle operation, stair climbing and fine hand movements; rarely work at heights, use fall protection, and lift under 25 lb • Work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable weather conditions • Construction management of K‑12 projects • Management of K‑12 planning, design and construction
