About the Role
The Safety Manager promotes a safe and healthy work environment by continuously improving Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) systems, reducing incidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role involves developing and directing safety programs and collaborating with project‑level functional leads to integrate safety and health requirements into work products and activities. This position works directly with journeymen, service technicians and other stakeholders on‑site near USA Parkway in Reno. • Conduct safety assessments/inspections of projects under construction to ensure compliance with contractual commitments, laws, regulations, and site‑specific EHS plans. • Collaborate with internal and external management to develop, prepare, and implement environmental, safety, and security policies and procedures. • Identify opportunities to eliminate workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. • Develop Method of Procedure (MOP), site‑specific safety plans, critical activity plans, and work permits. • Investigate employee or sub‑contractor injuries, motor vehicle accidents, spills, discharges, theft, vandalism, and property damages; produce written reports with root‑cause analysis. • Conduct safety and compliance training for supervisors and field employees as directed by the Corporate Safety & Risk Manager. • Provide comprehensive written reports documenting site visits, activities, and incidents.

What You Bring
Candidates must have extensive experience in large commercial construction, with expertise in injury prevention, compliance and risk reduction. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety with 10+ years of construction safety management, or equivalent trade experience combined with certifications such as CSP, CIH, ASP, CHST, OSHA 500, and a current OSHA 30 certificate. Additional credentials needed are First Aid, CPR & AED certifications, competent‑person designations for electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, confined spaces, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, supervisory and leadership skills are essential. The role demands occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling and working in limited spaces. Regular communication, both spoken and written, is required, along with the ability to sit for extended periods and walk long distances. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustments. The Safety Manager must also be able to work in extreme temperatures and at heights as needed for inspections.

The Safety Manager reports to the Corporate Safety & Risk Manager within the General and Administrative department.
