What You Bring
WSP is looking for an electrical engineering student to join its Generation Electrical Department in Boise, Idaho, for a full‑time summer position in 2026. Working under multiple experienced engineers, the intern will be involved in all aspects of power‑generation design and will apply core engineering principles and theories. The role is temporary and open to candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. • Learn basic principles of power‑generation electrical design. • Currently enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering (or related) undergraduate or graduate program, graduating August 2026 or later. • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. • Demonstrated interest in consulting engineering and a strong desire to develop related skills. • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities for technical and non‑technical audiences. • Ability to follow direction from mentors and managers. • Basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools. • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP health, safety, and conduct policies. • Completed junior‑level courses in power system analysis or protection (preferred). • Prior internship or engineering experience (preferred). • Familiarity with design or drafting software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel (preferred). • Possession of a Power Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certificate (preferred).
