About the Role
The Northeast Health Principal will lead HDR’s health sector growth in the Northeast (Philadelphia, Pennington, New York, Boston), reporting to the Global Health Director and partnering with the East Region Health Director to elevate the firm’s health brand. Key business development duties include defining market strategies, identifying priority clients, forming strategic partnerships, conducting market and competitor analysis, and coordinating capture plans with regional leadership. The role supports pursuit teams by coaching pre‑marketing strategies, crafting proposals and qualifications packages, and directing interview presentation planning to convert leads into wins. Building and maintaining strong client relationships across facilities and health systems is essential, as is promoting HDR’s health practice through external marketing, thought‑leadership content, conference speaking, and media engagement. Sector growth responsibilities involve talent evaluation, mentorship, and collaboration with health leaders and designers to strengthen regional teamwork and practice effectiveness. Project delivery expectations include driving quality design and innovative planning, acting as Principal‑in‑Charge when appropriate, and providing technical guidance to healthcare teams. • Develop and execute health market business strategies for the Northeast, defining priorities and target clients. • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships within and beyond the health industry to support growth initiatives. • Lead capture planning, pre‑marketing, and pursuit efforts, including proposal writing and interview presentation development. • Nurture and expand relationships with key healthcare clients, facilities, and systems throughout the region. • Elevate HDR’s health brand through external and internal marketing, thought‑leadership content, and event participation. • Mentor staff, assess talent, and support practice growth and regional teamwork. • Oversee project delivery as Principal‑in‑Charge, ensuring high‑quality design, innovative planning, and client service. • Provide technical guidance and insight to healthcare design teams on health projects.

What You Bring
