About the Role
As a Mechanical Supervisor you will work alongside experienced plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators, all committed to providing a secure environment and promoting rehabilitation. • Supervise plumbing and related mechanical maintenance staff in a Category B prison. • Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulations and Legionella L8 requirements. • Oversee commercial/industrial heating, water, and building services systems. • Manage health and safety standards, organisational and time‑management processes.

What You Bring
We are a Ministry of Justice business delivering critical services to HMPPS and are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor with five years’ plumbing or equivalent experience, knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8, and experience in commercial/industrial heating, water or building services. Required qualifications include C&G 6035 or C&G 6189 plumbing certification and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). Desirable qualifications are a current First Aid at Work certificate, facilities or project management credentials, and strong health‑and‑safety knowledge, organisation and people skills. • Hold C&G 6035 or C&G 6189 plumbing qualifications and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). • Possess at least five years’ experience as a plumber or in a similar role. • Desirable: current First Aid at Work, facilities management or project management credentials.

The Mechanical Supervisor (Plumbing Supervisor) position is based at HMP Pentonville, a Category B male prison in London (N7). The role is full‑time, permanent, with a salary of £48,574.47 plus a 5 % shift and weekend premium.
