About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Environmental team in Atlanta, GA. The role involves leading and supporting environmental remediation and coal‑ash closure projects while building strong relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams. The engineer will manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of delivery and uphold AECOM’s Quality Management System. • Collaborate with Remediation team Project Managers and cross‑functional AECOM professionals. • Act as Engineer of Record, sealing and signing reports, drawings, specifications, and regulatory applications. • Serve as Senior Project Engineer, overseeing technical delivery, design, schedule, client liaison, reporting, and team coordination. • Prepare designs, reports, specifications, and cost estimates for civil and environmental remediation projects, including excavation, landfill design, dewatering, stormwater management, and permitting. • Utilize CAD tools, preferably Autodesk Civil 3D, for project documentation. • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, technical methods, and client value. • Mentor junior and mid‑level staff and support their PE licensure preparation.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Civil Engineering with at least six years of relevant experience, a Georgia PE license (or EIT with intent to obtain), and a valid U.S. driver’s license. Preferred applicants bring seven or more years in engineering consulting, experience on large‑scale landfill and dewatering projects, and OSHA HAZWOPER certification. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience (or equivalent). • Professional Engineer license in Georgia or EIT with intent to obtain PE soon. • Valid U.S. driver’s license and pass AECOM’s motor vehicle records review. • 7+ years experience at an engineering consulting firm, leading large‑scale projects such as landfills, material excavation, dewatering, and coal‑ash closure. • Proven ability to lead technical efforts and project teams. • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
