About the Role

The Industrial sector helps shape efficient infrastructure and environmental stewardship, partnering with clients across mining, oil & gas, advanced manufacturing, and agribusiness, delivering full project life‑cycle services from evaluation to operations to drive innovation and resilient growth. The Area Industrial Market Sector Leader in Montana will lead client management and pursue project opportunities in the Industrial Market Sector, overseeing large multi‑discipline or technically complex projects, and providing technical and project‑management support for Resources Business Group initiatives. The role also involves staff development, coordination across departments, driving technical excellence, recruiting, talent management, and supporting the Area Manager and RBG Manager in profit‑and‑loss monitoring, quality assurance, contract review, and process improvements. • Serve as Client Manager for key clients and maintain visible industry presence. • Promote HDR services with the Resources Business Group Manager and Industrial Practice Leads. • Collaborate with the RBG Manager on market sector initiatives. • Lead or support pursuits through client relationship development, strategy creation, and participation. • Participate in industry associations, deliver presentations, and join panel discussions. • Identify investments (skills, acquisitions, technology) to sustain industry leadership. • Build relationships with counterparts in other consulting firms. • Develop relationships with senior leadership in client organizations. • Lead or assist in recruiting future Industrial Sector staff. • Coordinate support between departments. • Work with directors and practice leads to drive technical excellence and staffing for marketing efforts. • Identify needs for new or improved technical services and products. • Coordinate staffing and recruiting plans for key hires with practice leads and managers. • Assist local leadership with onboarding of new hires. • Identify resource gaps and support talent management. • Assist the Area Manager and RBG Manager in delivering Industrial sector services. • Drive client management and monitor sector profit and loss. • Ensure project delivery and support the QA/QC program. • Facilitate cooperation and remove barriers to success. • Implement process improvements and leverage work sharing to meet goals. • Monitor staff workload and promote effective resource use. • Review contracts to manage risk, staffing, quality, and claim resolution. • Promote QA/QC and provide technical expertise for marketing and projects. • Take on project management and technical assignments as needed.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, at least 10 years of industry experience, demonstrated ability in strategic marketing, client relationship management, staff development, industry‑association involvement, and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture and values. • Disseminate lessons learned within the Area and Industrial Sector practice.
