About the Role
The Shell Fabricator operates constant‑voltage welding equipment, mechanized seam welders, sheet rollers, expanding machines, grinders and a jib crane to fabricate and assemble regulator tank shells with leak‑proof seams. The role includes checking parts against blueprints for correct dimensions and locations, and signing off on safety and quality checklists. Daily duties involve acquiring materials with a forklift, verifying specifications against shop orders and customer requirements, rolling steel sheets into tank shells, seam‑welding, grinding excess weld, cleaning units, staging completed shells, labeling them with employee IDs, and attaching signed shop orders. The fabricator also operates the jib and bridge crane to position heavy parts, assists the team with unit movement, adheres to PQG and weld quality standards, supports regulator tank kitting, and meets or exceeds productivity targets. • Operate welding equipment, seam welders, sheet rollers, grinders and jib crane to fabricate regulator tank shells. • Acquire and verify materials daily using forklift, matching specifications to shop orders. • Roll steel sheets, seam‑weld shells, grind excess weld, and clean units to meet customer standards. • Stage, label, and attach signed shop orders to completed shells for the next operation. • Use jib and bridge crane to position heavy parts and assist team with unit movement. • Follow PQG and weld quality standards, support tank kitting, and achieve productivity goals.

What You Bring
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a welding certification from an accredited institution or at least two years of welding and metal‑fabrication experience. Candidates must be within a 50‑mile radius of the work location (except active‑duty military), be able to read shop drawings and process sheets, work overtime as needed, lift up to 50 lb, and wear required PPE. No relocation assistance is provided. • Hold a high school diploma/GED and welding certification or ≥2 years welding/fabrication experience. • Reside within 50 mi of the site (military exempt) and be able to read shop drawings and process sheets. • Ability to work overtime, lift up to 50 lb, and wear required PPE (safety glasses, ear protection, steel‑toed boots, gloves, respirator, weld helmet/jacket).
