About the Role

The Associate Applications Engineer, Oil & Gas role at Rolls‑Royce invites innovators to pioneer the next generation of technology. Working in an international environment, you will develop your skills to the highest levels for a globally recognized company. You will provide technical product support to operators and original equipment manufacturers, participating in customer meetings, delivering documentation, and analyzing requirements. Engineering support will be offered to senior staff for integrating complex oil‑&‑gas systems, including internal combustion engines, generators, battery energy storage, and plant control solutions. You will ensure increased reliability, availability, emission‑compliant installations, improved customer satisfaction, and enhanced safety through end‑to‑end project engagement. Your responsibilities include systems‑design integration, problem resolution, requirement definition, product verification, and root‑cause investigations such as Red Tops, SARs, MQIs, and drawing alteration requests. You will perform engineering calculations, support engine and system acceptance testing, develop test plans, conduct field tests, and generate detailed test reports while promoting a strong safety and compliance culture. • Provide technical product support to operators and OEMs, including customer meetings, documentation, and requirement analysis. • Engineer integration of complex oil & gas systems such as ICE engines, generators, battery storage, and plant control solutions. • Ensure reliability, availability, emission compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction through end‑to‑end project engagement. • Apply systems‑design integration to define requirements, design, verify, and resolve problems throughout product lifecycle. • Conduct root‑cause investigations and manage quality reports, safety alerts, major quality investigations, and drawing alteration requests. • Perform engineering calculations, analyze results, and produce technical reports. • Support engine and system acceptance testing with field tests, data acquisition, and test equipment configuration. • Develop and manage test plans, execute field testing, and generate comprehensive test documentation. • Promote a safety and compliance culture and adhere to the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct. • Execute special projects as required.

What You Bring

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technologies. Preferred qualifications include strong interpersonal and presentation skills, the ability to influence at all levels, experience with test engineering principles, LabVIEW programming, NI hardware, and proficiency in PC and MS Office. Additional knowledge of Rolls‑Royce MTU products, MODBUS, CAN bus (J1939), generator controls, CAD modeling, FMEA, project management, engine performance testing, and uncertainty analysis is valued. • Hold a B.S. in Mechanical, Petroleum, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technologies. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels. • Possess familiarity with test engineering principles, LabVIEW programming, and NI hardware solutions. • Exhibit excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and planning abilities. • Be proficient with PC and Microsoft Office Suite and committed to safety protocols. • Know Rolls‑Royce MTU products, MODBUS, CAN bus (J1939) protocols, and generator control architectures. • Experience with CAD modeling, FMEA, project management, engine performance testing, and uncertainty analysis.
