About the Role

The role involves providing technical assistance for the design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems such as temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing, as well as generating accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Under general supervision, the engineer will collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, and drawings; conduct research and inspections; perform load calculations and design support; verify site characteristics; produce specifications; and follow safety and ethical guidelines. • Assist in the design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems (temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, plumbing). • Gather and analyze site data, surveys, blueprints, and technical drawings for project design and construction. • Perform basic engineering tasks such as load calculations, equipment sizing, and operating strategy development. • Produce accurate documentation, specifications, and field logs using electronic systems. • Ensure compliance with mechanical codes, regulations, safety standards, and WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Collaborate with team members and communicate technical information to both engineering and non‑engineering audiences. • Maintain workplace safety and adhere to WSP health, safety, and harassment policies.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or related), 0‑1 years of experience, strong research and analytical skills, familiarity with design/build processes, relevant codes, and basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software, along with good communication and teamwork abilities. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0‑1 year of post‑education experience. • Demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD (or similar design software), technical writing, and office automation tools. • Preferred: Engineer‑in‑Training certification, relevant internship experience, and involvement in professional organizations.
