About the Role
• Manage overall construction activities and assign tasks. • Coordinate with other departments to secure materials, equipment, and inspections aligned with the project schedule. • Collaborate with Project Managers to budget, forecast, and manage labor, equipment, materials, tools, and site conditions. • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability. • Develop and maintain the project schedule, including three‑week look‑ahead plans. • Align plans and specifications with engineers, resolving discrepancies. • Create and implement site utilization plans and determine crew sizes. • Select appropriate formwork systems and equipment. • Lead pre‑construction planning sessions and site meetings. • Supervise on‑site work crews and provide direction. • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, foremen, and assistant superintendents. • Foster a teamwork environment and ensure crews have necessary resources. • Provide performance evaluations and work direction. • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, performance management, and termination decisions. • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program and manage open‑shop and union issues. • Maintain relationships with visitors such as customers, architects, union reps, and subcontractors. • Oversee site logistics and suggest process improvements.

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent I who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, remaining flexible, proactive and professional. The role requires anticipating problems, creatively solving them, and delivering viable solutions. Mortenson is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, and requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience. • Minimum 15 years of construction experience, including 10 years in a supervisory role. • Experience with solar or large industrial power projects. • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. • Strong attention to detail to organize and track numerous project tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices. • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and apply Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100%.

Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $144,300 to $216,500, with higher ranges for certain locations.
