About the Role
• Review bid documents, conduct constructability reviews, and prepare cost estimates (pre‑bid services). • Assist during the bidding phase. • Process shop drawings and other contractor deliverables. • Manage construction change orders, including negotiations and preparation. • Provide resident engineering and inspection services. • Review and analyze construction schedules. • Ensure quality assurance and oversee material testing. • Maintain comprehensive project files. • Participate in value‑engineering studies and support the Envision process. • Identify, analyze, and resolve claims to avoid disputes. • Coordinate utility services during construction. • Manage construction impact on plant operations. • Deliver commissioning services, including SCADA and startup support. • Conduct project closeout and post‑construction activities. • Provide additional construction and operational support as required by the County. • Offer construction‑management field office support (rental, maintenance). • Assist with alternative delivery methods. • Support County safety personnel by implementing health, safety, and environmental plans, conducting site audits, and mitigating hazards. • Support permitting processes and coordination.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings at least 20 years of project or construction management experience, preferably with Wastewater Treatment Plant projects, holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and has a track record of managing large‑scale initiatives. Preferred qualifications include a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential and experience in program management. The position is based in Fairfax with core business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, full‑time employment status, and requires successful completion of a criminal background check.

Benefits
