About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Transition Manager in Canberra to work on CASG Joint projects, overseeing the transition of capabilities from acquisition to sustainment. In this role you will lead the execution and ongoing maintenance of the JP9101 Transition Plan, develop and progress Transition Transfer Documents, and provide expert advice on emerging transition issues. You will work closely with internal teams, external vendors and stakeholders to clarify responsibilities and ensure effective knowledge and documentation transfer. Additionally, you will identify transition risks, implement mitigation strategies, and oversee quality checks, performance monitoring, and post‑transition reviews to drive continuous improvement. • Lead execution and maintenance of the JP9101 Transition Plan, defining steps, timelines, and resources. • Develop and secure approval for Transition Transfer Documents to hand over mission system responsibilities. • Advise on emerging transition issues and recommend actions aligned with program plans and policies. • Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to clarify roles and ensure knowledge transfer. • Identify transition risks, implement mitigation strategies, and conduct quality checks and post‑transition reviews. • Maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (or higher) security clearance; ITAR compliance may be required.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, and has demonstrated experience delivering complex transition activities within Defence acquisition or sustainment environments, including familiarity with ASDEFCON frameworks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven program or project management capability, and knowledge of Defence‑specific requirements such as CASG Capability programs, classified network handling, and quality assurance practices are essential. Relevant certifications such as PMP or CPPM are desirable, and you must hold and maintain at least a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, with possible ITAR compliance. • Hold tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, or related fields (or equivalent experience). • Demonstrated experience managing complex Defence transition activities and familiarity with ASDEFCON frameworks. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across diverse stakeholder groups. • Proven program/project management expertise, including risk management and resource coordination. • Knowledge of Defence requirements, CASG Capability programs, classified network handling, and QA practices; PMP or CPPM certification desirable. • Exhibit strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
