Job Highlights
About the Role
Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5 and the certified operator program. Assistance may be given to other operators on proper operational procedures. Assemble fuel pumps and subassemblies for aircraft engine booster, transfer, and gear fuel pumps using components such as bearings, connectors, covers, housings, impellers, rotors, screens, shafts, stators, and valves, employing hand tools including wire cutters, screwdrivers, wrenches, and gauges. Obtain soldering certification prior to performing soldering operations. Perform part marking, nameplate generation, and various safety cabling or lock‑wiring operations. Continuously visually inspect assembled units to detect irregularities. Conduct tests on aircraft fuel pump subassemblies to determine percentages, degrees, and angles of imbalance according to blueprint requirements. Check incoming parts against bills of material, strip and number wires, place them in staging containers, degrease parts, and attach wires in the proper sequence. Visually inspect all connections for defects and repair defective solder joints following instructions. Maintain accurate lot control (QCP 6.0) traceability, record keeping, logbook entries, and NCRs (QCP 11.0) with associated documentation. Accurately transcribe documentation details from individual device folders to the master product documentation package. Move material within the cell and perform minor equipment maintenance. • Perform visual and dimensional inspections and document results per ANSI Y14-5 and certified operator program. • Assemble, disassemble, and rebuild aircraft fuel pumps and subassemblies using various components and hand tools. • Obtain soldering certification and execute soldering, lock‑wiring, and safety cabling operations. • Test fuel pump subassemblies for imbalance and ensure compliance with blueprint specifications. • Inspect incoming parts, strip and number wires, degrease components, and attach wiring in correct sequence. • Maintain lot control, traceability, logbooks, NCRs, and transcribe documentation to master files. • Handle material movement within the cell and perform minor equipment maintenance.
