About the Role
In this role you will dispatch and schedule truck loads, arrange delivery appointments, and maintain strong relationships with carriers while ensuring compliance with Zekelman policies. You will work closely with the shipping, warehouse, sales and production teams to maximize loading efficiency, use the TMS+ system to meet fill‑rate targets, and continually seek cost‑saving opportunities. The position also involves cross‑training with other dispatchers and handling additional duties as assigned. • Dispatch and schedule truck loads for Plymouth, MI and Birmingham, AL based on customer delivery expectations. • Schedule delivery appointments with customers to ensure on‑time deliveries. • Maintain and cultivate relationships with carrier base, ensuring compliance with company policies. • Coordinate with shipping and warehouse teams to maximize loading efficiency. • Use TMS+ system, email, and phone to cover loads and meet fill‑rate requirements. • Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities without compromising service. • Communicate service issues to manager and sales, and provide cross‑training support.

What You Bring
• Minimum degree or diploma; logistics/dispatch experience preferred. • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking abilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; thrive in fast‑paced, high‑stress environments. • Experience with a Transportation Management System is a plus. • Ability to travel occasionally for training purposes.
