About the Role

• Design domestic water, sanitary, storm, process piping, compressed gas, purified water, and fire protection systems. • Create fire protection layouts and perform hydraulic calculations with specialized software. • Prepare construction documents, including drawings and written specifications. • Generate engineering field surveys and punch‑list reports. • Provide construction administration by addressing contractor queries and reviewing submissions. • Conduct code analysis and review plumbing and fire protection systems. • Collaborate with vendors for equipment selection and stay updated on new technologies. • Foster client relationships, attend meetings, and serve as on‑site project representative when needed. • Generate rough order of magnitude construction and design fee cost estimates. • Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals on the project team. • Produce construction drawings and specifications. • Research local and state‑specific codes as needed. • Follow established safety protocols.

What You Bring

• Understand basic construction methodology. • Excel in plumbing, piping, and fire protection design for complex systems and precise layouts. • Possess 7+ years of A/E consulting experience (preferred). • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred). • Hold FPE, PE, or NICET Level III certification for fire protection system design (preferred). • Demonstrate strong Revit and/or AutoCAD skills. • Exhibit strong writing and communication abilities. • Ability to multitask and meet project deadlines. • Knowledge of International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Fire Code, International Energy Conservation Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, and NFPA. • Understand hydraulic fire protection design software. • Proficiency or willingness to learn process and mechanical piping design, including P&IDs and equipment specifications. • Proficient with spreadsheet‑based design tools. • Hands‑on project coordination experience. • Willingness to travel to client sites, including occasional overnight trips. • Work accurately, collaboratively, and independently. • Read, write, and comprehend English for job‑related communications.
