About the Role

Key duties include designing roadway and highway reconstruction, fiber‑optic and wireless communication systems, traffic signal systems, and ITS infrastructure such as dynamic message signs, CCTV cameras, and vehicle detection devices. The engineer will also handle highway, roadway, and intersection lighting design, perform photometric analysis, and produce electrical load calculations, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules using AutoCAD or MicroStation. • Design roadway and highway reconstruction projects. • Engineer fiber‑optic and wireless communication systems for ITS devices. • Develop traffic signal systems, including wiring, conduit layouts, and power distribution. • Create ITS infrastructure layouts for dynamic message signs, CCTV, detection systems, and roadside communications. • Perform highway, roadway, and intersection lighting design with photometric analysis and load calculations. • Produce design plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation and generate electrical load calculations, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules.

The company is hiring an Entry‑Level Electrical Engineer for its Traffic Engineering Design/ITS Group. The role offers early‑career engineers the chance to work on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and lighting design projects for city, state, and private sector clients. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Preferred qualifications include experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation, strong communication and analytical skills, progress toward EIT certification, and relevant experience in ITS, traffic signal, or lighting design. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required. • Experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation and strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills preferred. • EIT certification (or progress toward) and experience in ITS, traffic signal, or lighting design are advantageous.
